This is Gerri, Head Chef at Nature’s Corner. She does some pretty amazing things in our kozy kitchen. When I asked her about her favorite product, I thought she’d have a hard time choosing one because she uses so many to create her delicious deli case masterpieces. Turns out she couldn’t wait to talk about gluten-free Tinkyada Brown Rice Pasta. “I Love Tinkyada pasta because it’s truly the best brown rice pasta I have ever tried. Growing up Italian with “Pasta Sundays” every week, I know good pasta. Tinkyada is the closest thing to the taste and texture of traditional semolina pasta but a healthier choice.” No wheat means it’s safe for people with wheat and gluten sensitivity. Sounds good to me, Gerri, I’m sold.
Back in the Nature’s Corner kitchen there’s always something going on. Here I caught Gerri, our resident food magician, Lauren, our illustrious produce manager and a very hungry Jude sampling Gerri’s latest creation:Roasted Sunchokes and Sweet Potatoes. This is one hot, hearty dish that really shows off one of Lauren’s best finds Local Sunchokes. These tasty tubers have a distinctive artichoke flavor but actually come from that most familiar of plants, the sunflower. Between these guys and the local fingerling sweet potatoes this dish isn’t just a delight to the palate but is also packed with nutrients-vitamins, minerals, fiber, everything you need for a very happy belly. This is Sam. She’s usually the first person you see when you walk through our doors. She’s been around forever and probably know every product we carry. I knew I stumped here when I asked her about here favorite product. Not so! Sammi, ever quick on her toes, headed straight back to Cosmetics and picked up a jar of MyChelle’s Deep Repair Cream. This is Lauren. She’s our Produce Manager. She’s the reason why all our local and organic produce is always so fresh and vibrant. When I asked her what her favorite product was she went right up toward the register and chose Chocolove Almonds and Sea Salt in Dark Chocolate. “This is one of my favorite products because sea salt and almond are the perfect pair with the chocolate. This is Paris. You’ll see him around the juice bar. His favorite juice is the Lean and Green with lemon, carrot and ginger. When I asked him why he told me it’s because the juice is “alkalizing, refreshing and nutrient rich. It has a full, balanced taste, includes ginger for digestion and it’s hydrating.
