Local PA Tomato Farm Video
This week we are bringing you a special video made by one local farmer from Blooming Glen Farm, in Pennsylvania. Since the farm is not certified organic, you wont find their tomatoes here at Nature’s Corner…but of course we’ve got loads of juicy tomatoes from other local organic farms. Still, it’s a fun and informative clip.

Try This Tonight: Garlic Scape Dressing
Garlic scape is a unique looking vegetable that we have this time of year and it’s both Local and Organic from Merrick Farm just 12 miles from us. Their bright, curly shoots emerge from garlic bulbs in mid to late spring and have to be clipped off to allow the garlic bulb to properly develop. They taste great sliced up and sauteed with other vegetables or worked into a pesto. This dressing is a perfect place for these mild, green, garlicky shoots. Stop by tonight for local, fresh, organic garlic scapes for this recipe.

What’s That Delicious Smell?
Back in the Nature’s Corner kitchen there’s always something going on. Here I caught Gerri, our resident food magician, Lauren, our illustrious produce manager and a very hungry Jude sampling Gerri’s latest creation:Roasted Sunchokes and Sweet Potatoes. This is one hot, hearty dish that really shows off one of Lauren’s best finds Local Sunchokes. These tasty tubers have a distinctive artichoke flavor but actually come from that most familiar of plants, the sunflower. Between these guys and the local fingerling sweet potatoes this dish isn’t just a delight to the palate but is also packed with nutrients-vitamins, minerals, fiber, everything you need for a very happy belly. Want to make this dish at home? It’s incredibly easy, I should know, I stole the recipe for you! Continue Reading
