The Inside Scoop on Vitamin D

This beautiful bright shiny orb in the sky is the sun and it’s about 93 million miles away.  In the winter it can feel a whole lot farther.  Aside from bringing warmth and light to all it touches, the sun’s rays are also vital to internal production of Vitamin D. That’s right, our amazing bodies make a vitamin out of sunshine.  Continue Reading

Corner Regulars In The Know…

Hey y‘all, we’d like to introduce you to Laura, a regular here at the Corner.  I caught up with her at the drink fridge and asked her about what she was after and why.  She picked up a Sambazon energy drink.

These little cans pack a powerful punch. And we’re not talking Red Bull here, Sambazon is loaded with the energy-packed superfoods from the Amazon, acai and yerba mate.  It also has  guarana and caffeine for the jump-start you’re looking for along with great antioxidants to give you a nice immune boost. Laura describes the taste as similar to a berry-flavored seltzer without the chemical aftertaste of most conventional energy drinks. When I asked her if it would ever replace her coffee, she laughed and said no but that she does often include it as a mid-afternoon pick-me-up.

Are you feeling a little sluggish today?

As mild as this winter’s been, there have still been a few chilly nights when tucking in to a rich and creamy pasta dinner seems like a great idea.  And sometimes all the heavy dairy in a traditional Alfredo can be a bit much.
