Try This Tonight: Baked Pumpkin-Spiced Apple Chips

Apples… is there anything that reminds  you of fall more? Every year we get so many apples to chose from. Ambrosia, Fuji, Honeycrisp, Pink Pearl – all delicious! Stop in to Nature’s Corner and choose as many as you want for this perfect fall recipe. Apple Chips are not only delicious, but also full of fiber and nutrients. Bake these ahead of time for a perfect road trip treat, or snack for a chilly day of pumpkin picking!

Ingredients

1/2 teaspoon pumpkin pie spice

1/2 teaspoon sugar

2 apples, 1/8 inch slices (crosswise)

Instructions

1.Preheat oven to 200F.

2.Mix sugar and pumpkin pie spice. Set aside.

3.Using a mandolin, slice apples, crosswise, into 1/8 thick slices.

4.Place apple slices in a single layer (do not overlap) on a baking sheet lined with parchment paper or a silpat.

5.Sprinkle with sugar mixture and bake on the upper rack of the oven for 1 hour.

6.Flip apple slices and cook for another hour. Turn off oven and let chips cool inside for 10 minutes. Let chips cool fully before enjoying.
