It is our great pleasure to feature one of our favorite people, Farmer Frank Leader from Egg Harbor, NJ. He and his dog Rudy (who by the way will ONLY eat organic veggies) are a dynamic duo that provide our store with locally grown, fresh organic produce.
He has been farming since he was 5 years old, working on his grandparents’ farm. Originally, it was his plan B, as he was getting his Bachelor’s Degree in Accounting and Education in 2006. As the summer came around, the Farm became plan A.
Farmer Frank began growing ornamental plants for the first ten years on his farm, then began to add more crops and livestock as time went on. His transition to Organic included adding lots of wheat, greens and many other crops to his rotation. He also began to raise local, organically fed turkeys to his farm. These days, his farm has grown to have between 50 and 100 different varieties of veggies, and over 50 turkeys. Throughout all twelve months of the year, his farm is growing strong.
Farmer Frank and Rudy are frequent visitors to The Corner, so make sure to stop by and taste his delicious, Local, Organic zucchini, turnips, cucumbers, kale, beautiful mini red potatoes, and so much more
